"Blues Greats"

We can never "capture" all of the great talents and songs of blues history.  Instead, we're going to feature some of them in our "limited" discography (see listings below) and invite you to contribute your views on other Blues Greats.

We are highlighting some of the "legends" submitted by our Members to tell you why these Legends are on their list of favorites. Click on the links below for information about their Choices

Albert King

John Lee Hooker

Memphis Minnie

Muddy Waters

Tampa Red Whittaker

Instead of just following the blues legends, we can also follow the songs as they've
traveled miles across blues history.  Take a ride with us on

The Blues Trail

Following the path of  "Some Day Baby" - "Worried Life Blues" - "Trouble No More"

This song preceded Mississippi Fred McDowel in the Delta and Hill country in North Mississippi--but  we can't ask him where he heard it.  He called it "Someday Baby."

Otis Spann recorded it on "Otis Spann is the Blues" as "Worried Life Blues" as did Billy Boy Arnold on "Back Where I Belong".

Muddy called it "Trouble No More" and recorded it in 1955 (CD same name).

Sam Cooke called it "Trouble Blues" on his 1963 recording "NightBeat."  Many of us first heard it on the Allman Brothers debut in 1969 as "Trouble No More."

So I know there is more before and after.  Can you add to this blues trail? If so send us an E-mail to tell us about it
